The word moot is an archaic term meaning "argue, debate, discuss." In early English history, a moot was a meeting to discuss local affairs. Moot comes from the Old English gemot, meaning "meeting."

48 Hour Book Challenge
Visiting family, high school graduations, and children home for the festivities will not deter me from my participation in MotherReader's 48 Hour Book Challenge this year.
Oh, I may ONLY manage one book but it is fun to think that this is a weekend of reading all over the Kidlitosphere and beyond.
My theme this year will be: Books I should have read by now but never got around to.
Clocking in at 7 a.m. Saturday, June 6, 2009.

I hope you're having as much fun as I am...yesterday was a blast as I read at the office and many were into the spirit! A bit quieter at home today, I may have to go out and drum up a fun site. Look forward to your list of "Books I should have read by now but never got around to." More later.....
Have a great time! I almost didn't sign up and now I'm totally into it. :-)
Hope you are having fun....it has been a great experience for me. I can't believe I had missed to date some of the great books I put in my stack for this Challenge! Happy reading to you...
Now that is impressive Challenge dedication! Hope you post the list of books that fit your theme, however many you get to read over the 48 hours.
I'm glad you're participating! Two years ago, I didn't even get one book finished (that was the first day of my daughter's potty-training). I'm heading off to see family who's in from out of town now, but will back with the books later this evening.
What is your first book?
