Author: Philip Pullman

Philip Pullman has updated his website for May. He says his book The Scarecrow and his Servant will be a movie.

Another film that will be made in due course is ''The Scarecrow and His Servant''. Aardman Animations, who made the great Wallace and Gromit films, will be doing it, though not in plasticine, I think. I'm very fond of the Scarecrow, and I shall look after him; but Aardman have safe hands and I'm not worried.

I love His Dark Materials. True, utter, complete adoration and inspiration.

Scarecrow, however, disappointed me.

I have not read Scarecrow. I do like his Sally Lockhart books. They evoke Victorian England completely.

I really enjoyed The Scarecrow and his Servant (which I read back in October - http://scholar-blog.blogspot.com/2005/10/scarecrow-and-his-servant-philip.html) and thought it could be read on several levels at once. I'm quite excited about Aardman doing the movie of it...
