The word moot is an archaic term meaning "argue, debate, discuss." In early English history, a moot was a meeting to discuss local affairs. Moot comes from the Old English gemot, meaning "meeting."
As a Gail Carson Levine fan, I truly enjoyed the interview with her at Cynsations today. Cynthia Leitich Smith's interviews are the gold standard for author interviews. Gail's new book, Fairest, is one of the ARCs I scored at my conference.

A heartfelt thank you for the heads up. I'll be knocking on Harper Collins's door now, demanding a copy of my own.
Cool cover, no?
