There is a brief article in the
Fairbanks Daily News-Miner about author Robert J. Blake. He is in Alaska doing research for a new book about a hunter who become injured and is saved by his dog. To capture the details he is going along with a friend who is a hunter:
"Larry was always really good in the woods," he said. "He's looking to get a moose. I'm going with him. I'm not shooting though. I'm just going with him."
He loves doing the research for his books.
At a recent illustrators' gathering, a fellow illustrator asked, "You don't really go to all those places, do you? I just research on the Internet."
Blake's' response: "You might as well have a desk job."
