Movie: The Ranger's Apprentice

United Artists has optioned John Flanagan's series, The Ranger's Apprentice.

I'm a book behind on my reading in this series but the boys I know, who have been following the books, were frustrated with the ending of the latest one.

Update:

Nice trailer about the series from Penguin.

I don't know -- I tried reading past the first one, and couldn't. It maybe would translate better into a movie? (That's saying a lot, coming from me, Hater of YA Books Into Film.)

I actually thought the second book was better than the first one. It had a nice cliff hanger ending. Some of "my" boys were annoyed with the ending of the last one though. I haven't read it yet so I don't know what they are talking about. I think one of them told me that he felt like he was being "strung along."

I like the books, and I think Ranger's Apprentice would be good as a movie as long as they stick to the books.

I'm from the United States and I've read all seven books and am dying for the eight. I know the fourth book hasn't been published in the U.S. yet, but I gaurantee that from the third on, they are the best books ever written. Ranger's Apprentice would make an awesome movie all the way through the series as long as they stick to the exact plot of the book. Keep em coming Flanagan!

I loved the first Rangers Apprentice book it set up the characters well and had me hook within the first page. The fourth book has me waiting on edge for the fifth book and since i live in the U.S I have to wait in till Aug. to get that one. I am so excited for the movie but hope it will keep to the book all the way. Can't wait to read them all. Thanks Flanagan for writing a wonderful adventure!

John Flanagan . . . keep them coming, we appreciate your talent and thank you dearly for allowing us to read it.

I cant believe how great these books are...They are fantastic!!!!I have only been able to read the first three but on the first page of the first book it got me hooked...I cant belive how great these books are....If I never saw this pirate book that I bought I would have never have gotten this but im happy i did!!!!I hope the movie sticks to the book because if it does the movie will be fantastic....I know that all the movies cut out the details but if they do that on this one they will ruin the movie because their is so many important details that you wont be able to tell whats goin on...But it will probably be a great movie...

I <3 this series. I just finished reading the 5th one that came out in the U.S. It was really good but it left as another cliffhagner, so I can't wait for the next one. I wonder if the books will become really popular after the movie like the Twilight or Harry Potter series did. What do you guyz think they'd rate the movie?? And I think they would stay close to the book because honestly the books aren't super long.

how many books are there 5?

Are they going to put all the books in one movie? They did that for Spider Wick which was REALLY stupid.
