I love Michael Rosen. Every year I use his "Going on a Bear Hunt," so beautifully illustrated by Helen Oxenbury, to introduce my kindergarteners to the library on their first visit. They love the large, soft illustrations and have so much fun making the sounds as the family trudges through the landscape. Then we do our own "book hunt" as we tiptoe through the library, following the same fun rhyming pattern that Michael uses. I can't wait to tell my new group of readers that he now has honored status!
