Back of the Moon

Oh gosh, Back of the Moon, the Scottish Trad Band whose CDs I enjoy, is going to be in the USA this month.

They will be performing in Washington, DC at Kennedy Center Millennium Stage on Monday, November 19, 2007 and other places.

Back of the Moon

This traditional Scottish folk band achieves its giant acoustic sound with Scottish border pipes, fiddle, low whistle, flute, bodhran (Irish frame drum), a rhythmic force of guitar and piano, and beautiful three-part vocal harmonies.

I'll be sure to check out the band. Thanks!

Hmmm, I did see that... If I can get out of work on time maybe I'll try to swing it. If not (and for those of you, like Camille, who aren't in D.C. or in one of other locales they'll be playing), Millennium Stage productions are streamed live on the Kennedy Center website.

Sprite,
I saw the streaming thing on the Kennedy Center website. I am going to try to be near my computer on the 19th. It looks like they archive the performances too! I just got hooked on Back of the Moon's album, 'Luminosity' while one of my entlings was on a trip to Scotland. I was having a "virtual" trip with her I guess.

Jaden,
Since I've only listened to them on cds I would be very interested in what their live sound is like.
